Vaccinating persons with dangerous comorbidities such as malnourished children or immunocompromised people is the lesser danger, and concerns a minority with only marginal effect on the community as a whole, therefore not affecting how a virus mutates.
Also, more nutritious food, eliminating starvation especially among women in childbearing age, and improving access to clean water and sanitation as well as making sure drinking water in properly cleande and protected from pathogens, chemicals etc improves the odds of resisting viral infections on a population level to a much greater extent and effect than any vaccine, at least measured over generations.
Furthermore, education in basic hygiene routines not only with health care providers but among all of us - washing hands properly, not coughing or sneezing without covering up, and so on lowers spread and consequently rates and severity of infections.
Add to that physical exercise outdoors in sunlight and vitamin/nutritional supplements added to a wide selection of foods.
I guess all of these taken together would be virtually impossible to properly model in some kind of quantifiable sense. Still, empirical evidence not only from western nations but from all over the world seems to suggest that vaccines are like the cherry on top: a nice addition to something already very good? After all, the lethality of many ages-old scourges drops significantly once food, clean water, sanitation and imporved living conditions become the norm.
But I'm not a scientist and have not medical background - I do know one thing though. What I speculate about above improves life for everyone, but does nothing for the profits of the quarter.
