That he actively worked to cover up the lab leak? That he promised sterilizing vaccines -- yes, he did and we have the receipts -- but delivered instead a perpetual "vaccine" subscription-prescription of 2 shots and 2 boosters and counting? (To think that smallpox and polio only require one shot each). That pretty much everyone knows at least one person who has had an adverse vaccine reaction? That Omicron is about as dangerous as the common cold, but he is insisting that children be vaccinated and boosted against it?

Or perhaps, articles such as the ones mentioned on vitamin D are simply a "more money required" signal to pharma/investors/marketing(/government?).
I don't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. I don't believe he is 'baffled.' I think he is working hard at self preservation as the public's awareness of his guilt gathers momentum. What else can he do at this point but feign innocence if he is not prepared to repent, which he isn't. He has decades worth of travesties to apologize for, not going to happen. The public must hold the army of perpetrators accountable, if we allow them to slither away, chances are this will happen again sooner rather than later.
Of course he's not baffled at all. It is very hard to imagine what goes on inside the mind of someone like Fauci. When we imagine someone frankly evil enough to push remdesivir or AZT despite the evidence of harm, we might imagine a mind rigidly focused on greed and the exercise of power. Instead, I think the mind of someone like Fauci is almost infinitely plastic. It is the danger of someone like, say, Kissinger, with verbal IQ so high that they can literally bend their reason into pretzels to support their desired outcome.
If such a person lacks the will and discipline to force themselves to self-honesty about their own intentions influencing their application of reason, a Fauci results. A person who can slough off all doubts and skew all reality to fit their desired ends. They become a Robespierre, whose own evil acts of oppression become proof of their virtue in their mind. The American constitutional system was designed to constrain such people, but the depredations of many years by the ambitious and unscrupulous have dredged out these gaps in the structure that people like Fauci crawl into. We just have to root them out and patch things up.
Perhaps he is baffled because he has generally been successful at getting people to follow his advice. That is changing , more people are seeing through the lies and deceit.
If he's baffled it's because of his ignorance. He'd be glad to know that I've been working on a covid documentary and there are a lot of people in Portland, OR who've stated that they'd get endless boosters if that's what happens.
