Political appointee or not, they're all under regulatory capture. They're all marching to the pharma drum beat. It's pathetic.

From Prasad's article: "In order to firewall policymaking from science, perhaps scientific agency directors shouldn’t be political appointees at all."

Perhaps we should get rid of scientific agencies in general? I believe in the separation of science and state.
