My kids were born in Texas where the law allows a mom to pick and choose when to administer her child a vaccine, to skip one vaccine but take another, tho they have to be vaccinated to enter public school I think. Now we live in ky where there is only an all or nothing religious exemption for vaccines. So what I did in Texas-- wait til they were two to give the first dose and then take our time, spreading out the schedule and also further pushing back mmr for my boy as I had seen studies showing older, bigger kids less likely to have problem. This sensible approach, supported by this research, is legal in tx and illegal in ky
