Eczema used to be used by doctors as a clear indication that bad things might happen if an infant was vaccinated. A new study linking Eczema and severe ASD is worth a good look.
Side note on eczema...Paul Saladino, MD talks a lot about how having eczema led him down the path towards a carnivore diet in his book. Essentially, plants were causing it. Specifically, phytoalexins (plant defense chemicals) were the problem in his autoimmune condition...https://youtu.be/KXijeatS_Ik Fascinating rabbit holes to go down in regards to lectins, oxalates, etc...
I stopped getting the flu vaccine around 2004 bs it was a coin flip whether I contracted the flu or not. Since then no flu except 2018 which was a bad flu season and I made a bad decision to eat at a diner with a couching worker.

So interesting! I'll have to close look at this. I had three smallpox vaccines(!) as a child (mom was an English nurse and smallpox was still around in England where we were going to visit.) I have eczema and weird skin stuff that no one understands. No autism, thankfully. There's so much to relearn about these shots! Very grateful you are a persistent, sharp detective pursuing such things faster than the speed of science :-)
I believe that my son had eczema because I was given antibiotics in labor (the only concession to mainstream medicine that I made in an otherwise natural birth, and a terrible mistake). He was breastfed, and I couldn't eat dairy, wheat, soy or eggs (probably because chickens are fed wheat or soy?) for the first six months of his life because it caused him serious gastrointestinal distress. At six months I started both him and myself on probiotics, which eliminated the food sensitivities completely, and lessened the eczema. Eventually he outgrew the eczema but there was a very clear relationship with probiotics, if we ran out or he slacked off taking them, the eczema returned. I realize these bacteria modulate the immune system but have no idea whether research has been done into particular strains/species that might decrease IL-6.
My son doesn't have allergies, asthma, developmental delays, ADHD or any social or emotional problems but he has also never had a vaccine of any kind. When my kids caught EV-68 when it was epidemic in 2014 my daughter barely had symptoms but I had to take my son to the ER for breathing treatments, and thereafter he needed Albuterol only when he had a cold or flu for about 2 years after that. I think that may be related again to the damage to his gut microbiome.
About 25% of women were at one time receiving antibiotics in labor (this may still be true) and no one has apparently bothered to see whether the (very small) number of babies saved from dying of group B strep infections is greater than the number of additional asthma deaths potentially caused by this policy. That it might also be increasing the percentage of children at risk for vaccine injury is a sickening thought, but seems likely to me.
Wow. Sorry that happened, but thankfully you and your son recovered well! I just squeaked by as one of the last allowed to choose not to use antibiotics when at the Birth Center ushering my son into the world. I tested positive for strep, but researched it and decided to forego antibiotics and trust nature to maintain the balance. I did allow the fear to get to me with a bleeding disorder and he got the vitamin K shot (no mercury). That wasn't good - he got jaundiced for a time. He did recover though, and is now a 20 year-old who had homeopathic treatment for illnesses. He had some very mild eczema and gluten intolerance too, but that has resolved.
I thought it was very weird that one was supposed to take antibiotics just for the birth too - talk about selecting for the most resistant bacteria! Just didn't seem right to me.
Very best regards - thanks for sharing your story!
in the biomed community (for ASD & related disorders), we have known that infant/childhood eczema was one of many in the constellation of symptoms pointing to vaccine injury. we know that skin issues really = gut issues. this is fascinating research pinning it down more specifically in the immune system. I'll be sharing this with my peeps. thanks, Dr J :)
I recently found my baby passport and discovered a note written by my pediatrician (dated 1971) tucked inside, noting that I was not to be vaccinated due to my having eczema.

I don't control that. Not sure!
