Fact-checking the fact-checkers leads to counter-fact checking, and counter-counter fact-checking, ad infinitum, ad frustra. In other words, it's time to return to non-authoritarian based dialog.
They are not fact checks at all. They are narrative correction by narrative managers. The name is as accurate as "Pravda" was.
Much of this was inspired by postmodern philosophy that asserts there is no objective reality. Instead, they advance relativistic narratives based on whatever is popular with the in-group of right-thinking people. No matter if the narrative has to be tweaked from day to day. Sadly, it turns out that the narrative de jure of this type of system becomes dominated by monied interests who can employ the most narrative correction and concoction teams.
Science is based on the belief that there is at least a certain degree of objective reality that can be revealed through experimentation. Society has to choose one or the other: the narratives of the powerful or the desire to discover truth based on evidence. It is very disheartening to realize that the majority choose fake narratives until they will be forced to discard them by the physical reality of illness and death that is coming to surround us. However, like with all the authoritarian, centrally planned systems, this one too will fail and the failure will become too obvious to ignore.

It’s the who-shall-guard-the-guards problem or the argument-from-authority: it’s self-referencing.
The opposite of <Fact-Checker> is the <scientific-method> where experiments give repeatable results that agree with each other, advancing knowledge, until new evidence says otherwise.
Anyone can call this “fact checking”: doing the experiment, but NB that <Fact-Checking> from on high by whim is the opposite.
The deception is the stolen concept. “fact-checking” is stolen and reversed in meaning.
Likewise <The Science> or <Follow The Science> is stolen and reversed in meaning.
The clue is in the name Fact-Checker itself. It is autocratic as the self-proclaimed source of knowledge without any connection to reality, it is a floating abstraction that can mean anything.
Alternatively, ordinary science, the continuous search for improvement, is always an incomplete, but accumulating body of knowledge that would never dare to call itself The Fact because tomorrow, it might become The Fallacy - there is no such thing as The Fact (on which to base The Fact Check).

I am laughing so hard right now--this is exactly what I spoke about during my last iPAK seminar. "Fact checkers" are simply one tentacle of a massive censorship octopus put in place to eliminate free speech and consolidate power among a small group of individuals to control the population as a whole.
It is at a point where mocking and sarcasm is the way to deal with the lies. Taking the Phact Checkers seriously and engaging in debate without sarcasm and mockery empowers them as if they were legitimate.
Certainly, the WHO, the UK Government (as well as other Western nations) completely botched the initial pandemic response & changed 'the narrative' almost daily. They then had the audacity to call sceptics 'Cov-idiots' & spreaders of 'dangerous misinformation', to this very day....

It's honestly to the point where I simply assume the truth is the opposite of whatever a fact check says. Probably not the effect they intend.

Fact chokers are not paid to check, nor to think. Fact chokers are merely paid to choke facts.
