It sounds like it could have come from an Albuquerque newspaper - a little bragging about how a national policy came from a bright local high schooler and her proud, smart, well-connected dad.
If I remember right, a key aspect of Laura Glass's computer model was the idea that a respiratory virus would be spread by droplets from sneezes and coughs. There was apparently previous research showing that these droplets fell to the ground/floor within six feet of the person who sneezed or coughed.
I think a subsequent researcher invented a kind of "sneeze machine" and demonstrated that hamsters more than six feet away from the machine didn't catch the virus contained in the machine's sneeze droplets.
No account was taken, in either social distancing or mask mandates, of the fact (known *very* early in the pandemic) that SARS-CoV-2 was spread primarily in respiratory aerosols - in other words, in the invisible fine mist in every human's exhalations.
Aerosols don't fall to the ground. They go through and around masks and around plexiglass shields. They carry viruses not just into peoples' noses and mouths, but also into their eyes and ears. I think it is natural to want poetic justice. Also, as humans we do have an urge to retaliate when we have been hurt. I think accountability is necessary, but it is healthier for us to drop that natural desire to 'get back at.' Everyone is at a different level of unconsciousness, so even evil deeds to the evil doer can seem like the best possible response in the moment. Fauci even spoke of the noble lie, so that is where his mind is at. I have been in relationships where someone would say 'Oh, that is just a white lie,' but that was a concept from the Middle Ages and it is misused regularly to justify all manner of deception. Not excusing, we have a responsibility to let the truth in and change course. But many people allowed Fauci to have unbridled power, and many colluded with him, I am assuming his family members went along also.
