Super valuable article. Thank you so much

I've been seeing a lot of articles recently about the gut-brain axis and the criticality of gut health. This article addresses depression, but there is much to support the importance of gut health in fighting COVID, Long COVID, and vaccine injury.

might want to add dairy to the list. But why organic fruits?

OMGosh Maurine, I think your right!

Now that I think of it, Dr. said I was allergic to Egg!

All fruits except berries, mango, pomegranate! I don't know why, other than my family are diabetic on both sides...I guess I was supposed to curl up and die a long time ago! LOL

Basically the fruits organic or not, convert into fructose...

The post was not intended to focus on the shortcomings of the body or possibly the inability to digest genetically modified foods...

Hoped to highlight that one needs to heed the warning signs of the body...

circles under the eyes

body odor

Yeast Infections

Slow to heal

Headaches (often and/or debilitation)

Gas

Bloating

defecation issues: too much, not enough etc.

People seem to not realize these are the body's way of telling us its NOT COMFORTABLE...

To NOT take tums after a pizza... perhaps its the whole darn pizza that affects you...

its taken a lifetime to learn how to manage what to ingest, what one can 'cheat' with and what to avoid completely (unless one desires to clear a room, kills small animals by destroying all the oxygen in a room)

Saurkraut is very easy and cheap to make, and likely a lot better than commercial probiotcs. Kefir as well if you have grains.

I heard that probiotic yogurt type stuff is actually pasteurized then they add a bit of live culture at the end, seems kind of crazy.

I often wonder exactly HOW healthy my Grass Fed Milk is, considering it’s TRIPLE pasteurized …

Basically is is then just colored water?

I don't find this article to be very impressive. At most, it is a preliminary and small study of short duration (4 wks). There is a strong placebo response that is very comparable to the probiotic treatment group. While there are statistical differences found, the clinical significance of them is minimal at best. Short-term trials (4-6-8 weeks) plague the psychiatric literature and it's difficult to say what crucially will happen over the next several months to years. The Hamilton Depression scores are only in the mild to moderate range (depending on the rating system used) and in this range there is a high placebo response and/or a high degree of spontaneous improvement.

Sure, and they say something similar in the conclusions, but it is interesting to see a relatively natural intervention being used compared to pharma products. Wasn't the SSRI thing shown to be a con recently after how many millions have been taking them?

Was the trial sponsored by the manufacturer
