Indeed! Brilliant and frightening analogy in equal measures. And I saw a headline that the US government has just invested $165M in Moderna (in England) to create a modRNA bird flu vax. I’ve not confirmed it, it was shared in a different substack but if true talk about the fire chiefs going all in to create the market/customers.
question: can we reliably determine lab manipulation using no-see-um techniques to be able to determine when this has happened? Or will the Faucis of the world still argue that it was natural origin and get away with it?
During the past few years I (and possibly dozens or hundreds of others) have written letters to Warren Buffett letting him know our extreme disappointment that he is donating so much of his fortune to the slippery, unethical Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I was thrilled last week to read in the WSJ that upon Buffett’s death, no more of his money with go to the Gates’. The more we can strip away financial incentives for bad behavior, the less bad behavior will exist.
