I’m so glad I read this. I currently have covid, and what did the urgent care doctor prescribe me? dexamethasone and Doxycycline. I even told him that I’m an airline pilot. I decided not to take the doxycycline because why would I need an antibiotic for a virus? And I’m glad I made that decision.
I don't know whether or not SARS-CoV-2 has been isolated. I do know, I haven't heard "SARS-CoV-2 hasn't been isolated" from any of the COVID-treating doctors, or COVID researchers, that I respect. My original understanding of the stages of COVID-19 illness and the sequence and timing of symptoms came from a Chinese doctor who had been treating COVID-19 in China. This doctor was not an official spokesman; he was simply a doctor passing helpful information on to friends and relatives. His description matched up well with information given by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko and Dr. Paul Marik in the U.S. When a close relative of mine became ill in mid-March, 2020, no testing was available to her. But her symptoms and their sequence and timing matched the information from the Chinese doctor, Dr. Zelenko, and Dr. Marik. Three U.S. doctors who reviewed this person's symptoms and history (none of these doctors was available to do an exam BTW) concluded that she had COVID.
