Brilliant. Everything you propose has been assumed by people saying ”trust the science.” Then we find out about the foster kids used to test AIDS drugs and debarked beagles and flesh eating fleas. It’s such a betrayal of public trust!
Hello, I may agree with your statement that grants are not an entitlement. However, I find your hypothesis very narrow-minded, and the generalization that all research must result in cures. As if research is a narrow path, and a grant must deliver actionable results. Science does not work that way, and consensus science requires peer review and corroborating evidence from independent research. Additionally, research often reveals important tangential discoveries. Second, in some fields of study, mice perform a crucial role in research. Human experimentation is limited for a reason: people don't like side effects or death. I will conclude by suggesting you temper your condemnation of scientific methods and the use of rodents. Kindly Coach
