Dr. Paul Offit Is Having A Busy October Misleading the Public
From Churches to Podcasts, I've Spent a Week Discussing Offit's Misinformation and Getting Into His Head with the Informed
First, it was a Churchgoer who asked Dr. Offit to describe any corruption or conflicts of interest he has seen during COVID-19 related to vaccine manufacturers, advertisers, and others.
Next thing you know, he’s misrepresenting the CDC’s association study on the link between aluminum and persistent asthma.
Then, he utterly misleads a pair of podcasters into thinking that ASSOCIATION ANALYSIS retrospective studies conducted with data from VSD is the only type of study that can test causality.
For those of you who do not have time to listen and keep up with the torrent of misleading statements from Offit, my fellow podcasters and I at Bad Science Theater have analyzed and assessed his claims, behavior, and statements.
Offit has tendencies to upweight anecdotes in favor of his particular biased preferences while downweighting those that disfavor his desired positions. He also upweights retrospective studies that find what he wants to find, and downweights the same types of studies that happen to find an association between vaccines and bad health outcomes, even if the study is done to his misleading specifications of adjusting for potential (unproven) covariates. All the while, he fails to inform the public that association analyzes cannot fully test causality.

Are there any other vaccine proponents that give that side a better argument than Dr. Offit? If one was trying to look for the best steel man arguments for Covid vaccines, and the current vaccine schedule what is a decent source/book? I can't really take Offit seriously anymore. I got up to the part in Prophets of Autism where he uses class action lawsuits against breast implants as an argument against having removed thimerosol from vaccines and I had to tap out. Frankly, the study that proved the silicone breast implants were safe should have been done before the surgeries but regardless, the idea that vaccine manufacturers shouldn't error on the side of caution because the masses may lose confidence is pretty awful on its face.
Can someone PLEASE go on the comments section on YOUTUBE and after you finish barfing over the people gushing, give the FACTS and science about the shots....PLEASE....STOP THE PROPAGANDA!!!!!
