Total Success in Full Vaccination Against Monkeypox Would Lead to Nearly 2 Million Cases of Myocarditis or Pericarditis and 4.3 Million SAEs.
With 58 deaths of just over 33,000 cases in 18 months, the CDC seems to think 1.9 M new cases of myocarditis and pericarditis and 7M SAEs are just fine
Recent claims of reduction in the risk of hospitalization due to monkeypox infection would appear to be good news. But then there’s the rest of the story.
The CDC has been pushing the monkeypox (aka “MPOX”) vaccines pretty hard.
The reality is readily available in the Vaccine Information Sheets for one vaccine, and the FDA product insert for another.
For the ACAM2000 vaccine (CDC and FDA):
Myocarditis and pericarditis: Inflammation of the heart muscle and lining. The rate is 5.7 per 1,000 primary vaccinees.
General, progressive, and severe vaccinia: This can occur in immunocompromised people and is caused by the uncontrolled replication of the vaccinia virus.
Eczema vaccinatum resulting in permanent sequelae or death.
Fetal death: Pregnant people who have received a live vaccinia virus vaccine are more susceptible to spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).
Encephalitis, Encephalomyelitis, and Encephalopathy: Conditions of inflammation of the brain, spinal cord, or both.
Erythema multiforme major (EMM), including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS).
Ocular complications and blindness.
From the Product Insert:
“Myocarditis and pericarditis (suspect cases observed at a rate of 5.7 per 1000 primary vaccinees (95% CI: 1.9-13.3)), encephalitis, encephalomyelitis, encephalopathy, progressive vaccinia, generalized vaccinia, severe vaccinial skin infections, erythema multiforme major (including STEVENS-JOHNSON SYNDROME), eczema vaccinatum resulting in permanent sequelae or death, ocular complications, blindness and fetal death, have occurred following either primary vaccination or revaccination with live vaccinia virus smallpox vaccines. These risks are increased in certain individuals and may result in severe disability, permanent neurological sequelae and/or death”
Why do the news stories not report the expected hospitalizations and deaths from the SAEs?
For JYNNEOS, another monkeypox vaccine, the CDC notes that it has been "pretty well tolerated," but specific rates from the FDA says otherwise:
“Serious adverse events were reported in 1.5% of JYNNEOS recipients among the smallpox vaccine-naïve subjects and 2.3% among the smallpox vaccine-experienced subjects.
Cardiac Adverse Events of Special Interest (AESIs) were reported in 1.3% of JYNNEOS recipients who were smallpox vaccine-naïve and 2.1% who were smallpox vaccine-experienced.”
As of the 2020 Census, the U.S. population is approximately 331 million.
For smallpox vaccine-naïve individuals:
331,000,000×0.013=4,303,000
Approximately 4.3 million people would experience AESIs.
Notably the increased risk for smallpox vaccine-experienced individuals suggests #PathogenicPriming.
News stories should be required to report the expected rates and numbers of hospitalizations and deaths caused by vaccines.
