NY POST: ONCE AGAIN, CDC Places Politics Above Science (and It's Killing Americans)
This piece is remarkable given how it almost reads "business a usual" at CDC. Plan B will allow us to shutter CDC and NIH once and for all.
CDC is a partisan agency embedded in the US Government.
Let me say that again: CDC is a partisan (Democratic party, in particular) - agency embedded in the US Government.
CDC’s reputation as a bastion of reliable information is done, and the damage it has inflicted on itself is irreparable.
Take, for instance, this jaw-dropping description in the NY Post:
“Researcher: CDC Puts Politics Above Science
‘For the second year in a row,’ grumbles Jon R. Lott in RealClearPolitics, ‘the Centers for Disease Control has been caught ignoring science and letting liberal interest groups set its policies.’ In 2021, despite data ‘showing that masks harm children’s development, the CDC supported masking students after being pressured by the National Education Association.’ This year, ‘gun control activists got the CDC to remove research from its website.’ The agency scrubbed ‘a 2013 National Academies of Sciences report showing that the annual number of defensive gun uses ranged from about 64,000 to 3 million.’ In caving to gun-control activists angry that the NAS data is cited against their agenda, the CDC is again ‘making decisions based on politics, not science.’
Lott’s article in RealClearPolitics also cites how CDC continued to support masking children after studies showed that this practice harms their development.
You may recall my speech in Harrisburg condemning anyone who dare politicize science.
I have proposed a plan to replace CDC and the NIH entirely. These bloated organizations are giant holes into which billions of dollars are dumped. We have little progress in “showcase” areas of biomedicine, but truly nothing to show for it. We remain among the sickest population among developed nations.
Under Plan B, we can put an end to industry lobbying determining public health policies and end outright agency capture. Under Plan B, we create parallelized research organizations and to outlaw conflicts of interest under mortal threat to the organizations.
We still use government funding, we still have government oversight, but we put each organization on a firing line. If they break the rules, that particular node is terminated, and another on is created elsewhere. The goal - the only goal - is to learn what’s making Americans sick, and what is killing Americans.
Defensive gun use is not killing Americans.
Lack of objective, science-backed treatment of COVID-19 is killing Americans.
Iatrogenic disease is killing Americans.
Conflicts of interest are killing Americans.
Regulatory capture is killing Americans.
Disinformation campaigns that keep us ignorant are killing Americans.
Censorship (early warning) is killing Americans.
We need to put an end to rule by partisan regulatory decree.

Kudos for your diagnosis of the utter corruption and failure of the government regulatory-pharma complex. However, replacing our current health regulatory agencies with new agencies funded and overseen by the government will inevitably be captured by industry again. Corruption will arise whenever agencies have direct coercive power over consumers (eg vaxx mandates) or indirectly through government control of health purchase funding (eg regulation and tax policy for health insurance/benefits market). There is no solution short of complete separation of economy and state.
