Learn Applied Biostats and Be The Difference
IPAK-EDU Has Added an Important New Semester-Long Course for the Public.
Part of the problem of righting wrongs that distort the public's perception is limited bandwidth. Specifically, there were only so many hours in the day.
From time to time, public data have become available that are important enough to be addressed with a fresh set of eyes, and an objective mind. Such data sometimes require reanalysis.
Often, however, the general public does not have the skill set to be able to crunch numbers and challenge specific conclusions when the data appear to fail to support a particular position.
That's why we have added a new course to the fantastic offerings at IPAK-EDU: Applied Biostatistics, taught by Dr. Matthew Buns. I intend to help out from time to time with conceptual lessons.
This course, which falls into the IPAK-EDU ANALYTICS Curriculum Track, is hands-on; you’ll learn how to execute a rich array of methods of statistical inference on a variety of data types and how to interpret those results. You’ll learn which methods are appropriate for specific data types. Importantly, you’ll be able to understand what is going on (or what should be happening) when other people analyze data and draw conclusions as well.
Here Dr. Buns gives a brief course overview:
