Howard Vlieger is a third-generation Iowa farmer who describes himself as a ‘student of the soil’. Since 1992, he has been a crop nutrition adviser and has been helping farmers transition to biological and organic production. He began studying GMOs in 1994 prior to conducting on-the-farm research in 1997. Vlieger believes that ‘glyphosate is the most chronically toxic compound ever indiscriminately released into the environment.”
