YouTube and it's parent company, Google, are on my boycott list. I will watch a YouTube video only when there is not an alternative; I will not subscribe. Have you considered moving elsewhere, e.g. Rumble? I have heard folks say that their subscribers/likes exponentially increased by moving to Rumble.
I am now subscribed to exactly ONE Youtube channel. Never watch because I hate audio/video as a format, but I am there to be counted.
