Well, look. From the beginnings of human attempts to intervene in the course of any illness or physical or mental distress, practitioners have been demonizing competing practitioners and accusing them of [insert purported crime or failure here] and the error we keep making is in imagining we're ever so much smarter and better and more evolved than the first shamans.

Human nature, that thing that keeps staying the same.
