Frankly when I first read a while back about this group quitting, I was delighted. From their statements at the time, I concluded these were the very people who helped make the institution so mistrusted.
While I do like and agree with your comment (mega dittos, as we used to say), I have to say that I love your name. We had a barn cat named Mouzer many years ago. He would curl up on the backs of the horses or sit on the top board of the stalls whilst we were cleaning. Occasionally I would take him in to work with me (I worked for a veterinarian) and he would sit on my lap for the drive. He was a great cat; still miss him.
Thanks! I love Sherlock Holmes stories, who lived in London. I got the name when I ran across info about a Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office at 10 Downing Street. There was a Mouser in residence during Sherlock Holmes' time. I just changed the spelling. The are several Mouzers 😠 online with my spelling. Of course they are imposters! So you know the real one only by the avatar. 🐱
I love your avatar! I have read a few Sherlock Holmes stories, but that bit about the Chief Mouser didn't stick in my memory banks - I will have to go back and re-read Sherlock Holmes. I will be on the lookout for your authentic avatar!
Our Mouzer was a plain brown tabby, abandoned as a tiny kitten at a friend's apartment complex. We had recently lost our barn kitty, so I took him home and raised him in the tack room until he was big enough to venture out into the stable and hay barn by himself. He had a great purr and loved his people and the horses, and tolerated the dogs!
Excellent! I would never expect emotionally incendiary language on this Substack. I do say the stark reason in this piece stands on it's own merits and is delightfully refreshing. I very much appreciate how you've stayed consistent in rational arguments. I could only wish I'd had you for my logic teacher in undergrad😁
If this weren't so good and so well written I'd have to say it's it's so excellent and so well done that it goes beyond all expectations of a dynamite substack. Kudos to Dr. Jack all the way to my hometown of Minneapolis.(but then that's another story). Thank you.
Indeed. The ideologically motivated tend to be the grandmasters of logical fallacies, and calling such fallacies specificay an effective counterplay to thie ham-fisted gambits.
Thank you.
It is so refreshing when logic is used so plainly with such effectiveness. Ditto.
Extremely well stated. We need so much more of this. Carry on!

My avatar is of my cat who I rescued like you did. However, her name is not Mouzer, which is her online ID to retain her anonymity.
I completely understand!!

One can only say of these 4 “don’t let the door hit you in the way out”
Seems like some of the problematic actors removed themselves due to changes. That sounds like progress to me.
Excellent post – thank you!
Of course, the four NIH quitters are using the only language their supporters can respond to: mindless triggers.
But, I’m sure there are many who can manage thinking, concepts and principles and who will appreciate your clarifying work.
Logical fallacies are passe.
Very timely and needed distinctions. Thank you.
