Great article, thank you.

No to chemical compliance. No to Courtroom psychiatry. No to medicine by mandate.

Bio-monopolization (ie just good ol’ 🇺🇸capitalism) in the era of techno determinism and biomedical feudalism? I can agree with your article but shouldn’t speak for those living in Pittsburgh.

This reminds me as an extreme version of what happens in NY state. Unless laws have been quietly overturned during the pandemic, NY state residents (tax payers) can send their biological products (such as blood samples for testing) to commercial providers anywhere. But state authorities made it a legal offence for out of state providers to process that sample and charge the NY resident for it. Government monopoly in the spirit of authoritarianism or ‘just’ old fashioned ownership?

NY illustrates a slippery slope that elected state authorities don’t care about when residents choose profits before people or jobs before health. Some of us might find it sickening that such self-serving capitalism Trumps health care in the name of population (over person) in health and innovation for future generations (as if to justify losses of those living today).

Yet, let’s be clear: Pittsburgh or NYC, It’s the Democratic way, but only a little different than Republicans … who choose to sit in the pockets of corporate lobbyists to compete with those who do.

It’s all pushed as the patriotic and capitalistic way at the state level — to help those who are suffering (?) and to support equity of access to treatments (drugs) they are unwilling or unable to access on their own. Yet, I humbly suggest that I can’t imagine anyone cares what I observe or think on this when I am not a voter in that city or state.

Maybe it’s just the professional drug makers dealing at the city level. There’s bound to be kickbacks for all involved.

I am sorry people not intending to be patients are directly dependant or reliant on loved ones who give MDs medical authority to apply some diagnostic category fabricated to sound more like reality than standardized disease theory.

💝 may we get real and be well.
